Cooked Meals in Cancer Shelter Homes
Among other initiatives, the Foundation continues its “Feed the Needy” program as a means to help people vulnerable to hunger. Towards this end it first identified the longer-stay patients coming to Mumbai for treatment in hospitals particularly for cancer related ailments. We have currently adopted three cancer shelter homes, one in Chembur and two in Khargar for providing daily lunch and dinner to the inmates, both patients and their attendants, who come from across the country for treatment in Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai. During the past three years, more than three lakh cooked meals have been served to these inmates. More such adoptions of shelter homes are in the pipeline.
